Most Anticipated Books of 2014

This week top ten Tuesday, hosted by the Broke and the Bookish, is the most anticipated books coming out in 2014.

In no particular order here is my list.

Cress by Marissa Meyer

A follow-up in the Lunar Chronicles series.  This one is about Rapunzel.   It will also reunite us with Cinder, Captain Thorne, Scarlet, Wolf, and Prince Kai.

The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I can’t wait to read the final book in this trilogy.

The Seeker by Stephenie Meyer (cover not yet revealed)

This is supposed to be a sequel to The Host.  WHAT!  I can’t wait to see the follow-up to that book.

Landline by Rainbow Rowell

I have only read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, but she brought me one of the most memorable male characters of this year (Levi).  I am eager to see what her other books are like, including this new one.

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

I loved the sequel in this series (The Grisha).  The addition of new characters (Stromhond) and the return of some old favorites.  I am interested to see where this is going to go.

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

I adored Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour, so much so that I want to see what her other books are like.

Rooms by Lauren Oliver (cover not yet revealed)

The Delirium series was a favorite.  This book is labeled as a book by Lauren Oliver for adults.  I can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick

My Life Next Door was a surprise by how much I enjoyed it.  This is another novel by the same author.

The One by Kiera Cass

I really liked The Selection, but found The Elite not as good.  Still, I can’t wait to see how it all ends.  As long as she end it with the right person!

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

This book comes out right around summer time.  A Stephanie Perkins book for summer.  Awesome.

Plus new untitled books by John Green and Katie McGarry!!

What books are you looking forward to in 2014?

  1. I’m finding out about so many books this Tuesday. I didn’t know there was going to be sequel to The Host! (Not that I’ve read the first one, but this still seems like something I should know.)

I have Isla, What I Thought Was True, and Cress on my list, as well.

    • That is probably a smart idea. The Elite was only so-so for me. I hope The One is good. Except I have very strong feelings about who she should end up with. Normally I don’t, but this time I might throw the book if it doesn’t go a certain way. Childish? Just a little bit!

      • I feel the same way, so that’s why I want to wait. Unless I’m mistaken, I think most everyone is Team Maxon, which is where I’m at, so if there’s an uproar I think I’ll pass. 😉

  2. Great picks! Two of these made my own list, but I need to read the whole series for them – Lunar Chronices and Grisha series. I also want to read Huntley Fitzpatrick’s new book and see how it all ends for America in The One. I’m excited to get to all of them next year. My TTT
