Top ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.
This Tuesday we are talking about the words or topics that make me instantly want to pick up a book.
In no particular order here is my list.
London
I love London. I studied abroad there and want to go back soon.
Dogs
I am a sucker for a dog on a book.
Dystopian
I don’t think I am done with this trend yet.
Travel
Travel is a win in my book. Road trip, air travel, hiking, backpacking, and so many more.
Single Girl/ Big City
Single girl making her way in the big city. Smart girls please!
Murder
Murder can be the topic to start off the story or be the mystery that the characters are solving. I tend to want to read more. Morbid, I know.
Realistic Romance
I am a sucker for a well done romance.
Beach
I want to imagine I am on the beach. Just not like in Beauty Queens, I don’t want to be stranded.
Historical Drama
I am really interested in history and it provides some great drama filled stories. It can be real or fiction.
Strong Female Characters
This should be more consistent in books. Strong female characters are a must and will make me grab any book, no matter the genre.
What topics or words do you gravitate towards?
Love your list, especially dogs, London, travel, and strong female characters! 🙂 My TTT list: http://aliceinreaderland.com/2013/04/29/topicsword/

Thanks!
Love, love, love the beach, it made my list too. I also enjoy stories set in London, it’s a city where it seems like anything can happen. My recent favorite: Charlotte Street.
Hurray for strong female characters! Dystopian was on my list, too.
Happy TTT!
Dannie @ Left to Write
I put strong female characters/heroines on my list too. I find them so inspirational.
Me too!
